April is the Creative Month

Hey readers– Just wanted to alert you to a couple of dates….

I was honored and asked to curate an art show on Women’s Empowerment in acknowledgement and celebration of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. I decided to feature the art work of Lysa Rhean Provencio, Tess Emily Rodriguez (who did the cover for Sad Girls & Other Stories), Pauline Campos, Danielle Frid, Jane Strohmaier, Adrienne Elaine Alina, and Alexa Grooms. Photographer Joanne Burgueno’s work is on display. It’s up now at the Drunk Brush Wine Bar in Quincy, CA. Looks amazing! Go see it. We’re having a reception from 6-8 pm on April 20th. Complete with a screening of Heidi Moore’s Showgirl Style on the TVs in the bar. And also musical stylings by Los Dos Garcias.

Then on April 23 I’ll be doing a panel discussion at the Anarchist BookFair in the East Bay with Michelle Gonzales and Tomas Moniz–how cool is that? Anxious to get my kids to an anarchist bookfair–you have no idea…

People have been asking but yeah, there’s no Listen to Your Mother Show in Plumas County this year, however, LTYM 2 time alumni Tiffiney Lozano has edited a new anthology (which my 2nd year LTYM essay is in) called MAMA SAID. At the Town Hall Theatre on April 28th we’ll be doing a reading from the book. Also at Green Apple Bookstore in San Francisco (MY FAVORITE BOOKSTORE) on May 2nd.

I know, I know. No imbedded links in this post. Dude. I’ll get to it. Right now I have to go fight sexist pigs. But now at least you know the dates…
